Cargo bikes at work in our cities

Beyond individual riders, fixelli equips urban mobility projects: delivery hubs, community cargo bikes and pilot programmes. We supply the bikes, keep them in perfect shape and, where needed, teach people how to ride them.

Smart e-cargo bike hub in the old town

Brașov wanted fewer cars in its historic centre, where bars and restaurants receive their supplies every day. The answer, a winner of EIT Urban Mobility’s RAPTOR competition (2024): a Rastel.io smart hub next to the pedestrian area, with two e-cargo bikes that delivery companies and their staff unlock from an app for the last mile instead of using a car. A digital twin shows the hub’s usage, gates and smart locks in real time.

Mănăștura, the community cargo bike in Cluj-Napoca

Mănăștura – the community cargo bike

A group of cyclists in Mănăștur wanted fewer cars on the school run and shopping trips. They chose a professional electric cargo bike and share it with their neighbours for free: folding child bench, side panels, rain canopy, GPS and two anti-theft systems. It is booked and unlocked in the Rastel.io app, for up to 4 hours at a time.

Testing Schemes – cycling in everyday life

In the European Active2Public Transport (A2PT) project, Romania’s National Velo Coordination Centre let Bucharest residents swap some of their car trips for cycling, walking and public transport. Over three testing rounds, participants used classic, electric and cargo bikes to find out what suits them.
